Jennifer McGrew
CEO
Jennifer McGrew, a proud native of Cobb County, embarked on her educational journey after graduating high school. She attended Mercer University, where she dedicated herself to earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. Returning to Cobb County after college, Jennifer spent a fulfilling period of nine years teaching elementary music in south Cobb County. It was during this time that she met Stephen, her future husband, and together they began their life in Kennesaw. Jennifer’s commitment to growth led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Kennesaw State University.
In the present phase of her life, Jennifer finds immense joy in raising her sons while actively contributing to the growth and success of Academy Roofing as its dedicated CEO. She takes pride in her role as a small group leader at Sanctuary Church and generously volunteers her time at her boys’ school. Additionally, she serves as a Board Member for the Kennesaw Baseball Association and the Kennesaw UMC Preschool, showcasing her commitment to community involvement. Jennifer is also involved with M.U.S.T. Ministries, where she selflessly volunteers in their summer lunch program.
Jennifer’s dedication to education recently led to her election as the President of the STEM Foundation at Frey Elementary School. Through this role, she actively supports and promotes STEM education, fostering an environment of innovation and learning for young students.
Overall, Jennifer McGrew exemplifies a strong and dynamic individual who prioritizes family, community engagement, and the pursuit of educational excellence.
Stephen McGrew
President
Stephen McGrew’s upbringing in the construction industry, alongside his father’s ownership of a custom home-building company, laid the foundation for his career. In 1992, he joined Academy Roofing, initially joining the team on a full-time basis while simultaneously pursuing his college education in the evenings. Through years of unwavering dedication and hard work, Stephen gradually climbed the ranks and ultimately assumed the role of Vice President after a decade of consistent effort. In 2013, he proudly took the helm as President of Academy Roofing.
During Stephen’s tenure, Academy Roofing has achieved remarkable milestones, including becoming a Certified Master Elite contractor by GAF. Their commitment to delivering exceptional service led to receiving prestigious awards such as the GAF Triple Excellence Award and the GAF President’s Club Award. Furthermore, Stephen is honored to serve as a member of the GAF Customer Advisory Board, contributing his expertise and insights to the roofing industry.
Stephen is a distinguished graduate of the University of Georgia with his Executive MBA and earned his BBA with a focus on marketing from Kennesaw State University. Beyond his career, Stephen has actively engaged with the local community through his involvement with his church and as a dedicated coach for his son’s sports teams. He cherishes quality time spent with his wife, Jennifer and their two vibrant and delightful boys. Personally, he loves Premier League Football and is a Liverpool FC official supporter as well as a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs.
Scott Pierce
Senior Sales & Warranty Specialist
Scott Pierce, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in residential and commercial roofing sales and repairs, assumes the role of senior sales and warranty specialist at Academy Roofing. His expertise is backed by his status as a master carpenter and GAF Master Elite certification. Notably, Scott played a pivotal role in constructing the 1996 Olympic Village, showcasing his exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to his craft.
Born in Smyrna and currently residing in Acworth with his wife and son, Scott finds passion in maintaining a fit and active lifestyle. He cherishes the outdoors and frequently spends his weekends creating cherished memories with family and friends. As a devoted football enthusiast, he wholeheartedly supports the Atlanta Falcons during the football season.
